Wonder Media Network is a pioneering, audio-first media company founded in 2018 that uses stories to inspire action, to promote equality and justice, and to introduce empathy into politics, business, and culture. Wonder Media Network (WMN) presents the stories we seldom hear and the perspectives we often miss through a mix of original and white-labeled content. Producer

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on editorial direction

  • Manage development of audio work

  • Develop and manage  a team of freelance editors and sound engineers

  • Review and provide feedback on show pitches and development

  • Ensure shows meet our high journalistic and creative standards

  • Provide regular feedback on shows and coaching for staff, freelancers, and hosts

  • Work with WMN marketing team to set goals and indicators for success, including audience and subscriber growth

  • Manage audio programming budget

  • Establish training in audio best practices for freelancers and WMN staff

  • Work with WMN marketing team on show engagement and marketing

  • Report, sound design, engineer, an edit interview- and narrative-style podcast episodes, as needed

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in audio production

  • A track record of excellence in audio journalism, including podcasts

  • Demonstrated ability to define and focus audio programming

  • Experience managing production teams and working across departments

  • Organized and entrepreneurial

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and to adhere to deadlines

Communications Manager

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Create, execute, and manage content on all communication platforms

  • Develop metrics-driven, and innovative communication plans

  • Work across departments to ensure cohesive execution of WMN’s communication goals, including company-wide and individual show benchmarks

  • Build and execute marketing launches of WMN shows

  • Play strategic role in building creative partnerships, influencer strategies, and cultivating the WMN brand

  • Pitch traditional and new media communication platforms on WMN content and principals

  • Develop internal and external communication products for WMN

  • Assist with creative, design, and production, as needed

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, create content across diverse platforms, and work under tight deadlines

  • Excellent writer and copy editor for multiple styles of content, from social media to audio interview scripts to editorial think pieces

  • Clear understanding of the podcast and media landscape, including existing network

  • Expert communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success at pitching stories, writers, and booking principals

Director of Podcast Marketing

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Create, execute, and manage a variety of critical strategic plans for podcast marketing, business development, and partnerships for Wonder Media Network

  • Work with Chief Marketing Officer to implement strategies across departments and shows in a cohesive and precise way

  • Develop partnerships with companies, content creators, media companies, and influencers to amplify WMN content across a diverse range of platforms and industries

  • Grow WMN audience across online and audio platforms

  • Track data, analyze information, and create actionable reports based on this data for WMN and partners

  • Create and execute launch strategy for new shows, including packaging, marketing, budgeting, and executing across platforms using data-driven, innovative tactics

  • Design and implement technical side of marketing strategies, including interfacing with various hosting platforms, technical companies and vendors, and content partners

  • Advise WMN clients and partners on best marketing strategies for shows

  • Take action in all associated creative, design, and concept development for podcast marketing, as needed

  • Collaborate with communications team on social media implementation, advising on best practices and ideating on community building initiatives

 

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working within digital media or podcasting industry

  • Knowledge of best practices in the audio industry across platforms, including descriptions, meta-data, analytics, and content development

  • Experience with Apple, Google, Spotify, Stitcher, Simplecast, and other podcast major platforms

  • Demonstrated successful ability to pitch products and build partnerships

  • Keen understanding of audience acquisition in audio and digital media

  • Experience building out and executing online-offline strategies

Business Development Associate

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to identify new markets, trends, opportunities - with an eye toward partnership and white-label clients

  • Attend meetings with CMO and support in follow-up, related research, and proposals

  • Prospect leads for WMN partnerships

  • Develop and maintain organizational methods as needed for sponsor and partner pipeline

  • Research and prioritize potential funder and grant opportunities

  • Perform market analysis to identify top performing peers

  • Stay up to date on innovations and standouts in the podcast industry / women in politics space

  • Collate, synthesize, and analyze relevant quantitative & qualitative data to help WMN craft and optimize its business development strategy

  • Support team in outbound communication

  • Work with team on web development, creative, and design, as needed

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • 2+ years working in a business development, marketing, or advertising role

  • Appreciation and experience with data-driven tracking systems and measurement concepts

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

Advertising Sales Associate

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Prospect leads and coordinate outreach for WMN Original Podcast sponsorships

  • Assist WMN marketing team with advertising plans for a range of WMN original shows

  • Execute marketing and advertising sales strategies to meet key goals

  • Interface with WMN clients, partners, and potential sponsors on advertising opportunities

  • Work across departments to cohesively build and execute strong marketing strategies

  • Assist with other business development work, as needed

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in digital platform or podcast sales

  • Track record for successful sales at a high volume

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work across departmentally in a fast-paced, start-up environment

Summer Social Media Internship - Paid

Responsibilities:

  • Create, execute, and manage online content for WMN platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram

  • Work with WMN marketing team on creative strategies to develop and grow online audiences, and ensure a cohesive voice across all WMN platforms

  • Provide WMN community members with excellent online experiences and engagement

  • Develop online relationships with key WMN community members and influencers

  • Draft amplification content for WMN shows, guests, and hosts

  • Stay up to date on women’s media landscape across political, cultural, and business platforms to identify amplification and collaboration opportunities

  • Assist with creative, design, and concept development, as needed

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Current college student

  • Available 30 hours per week during the summer

  • Experience with Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and posting platforms, like HootSuite

  • Excellent writing abilities across a diverse range of online platforms

  • Graphic design abilities a plus

  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and multi-tasking abilities

  • Desire to work in a fun, start up environment with opportunities for leadership

Responsibilities:

  • Provide production, logistics, and editorial support for podcasts

  • Prepare written internal and external organization materials

  • Assist in building and maintaining the organization’s databases and provide key administrative support to help a growing company scale

  • Work with WMN senior leadership on creative and content, including brainstorming, written editorial, podcast feedback, and content collaboration

  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Current college student

  • Available 30 hours per week

  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite, and social media platforms

  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities

  • Desire to work in a fun, start up environment with opportunities for leadership

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate over online channels
