On May 9th at Nike’s House of Innovation in New York City, WMN welcomed Nike teammates to a panel entitled Olympic Innovation: The Intersection of Fashion and Performance. Moderator and WMN CEO Jenny Kaplan spoke with Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, FIDM Museum Senior Curator Christina Anderson, and our very own Nike Product Testing Analyst Nihal Hameed about how Nike, in partnership with athletes, continues to co-create the future of sport innovation. Over 30 teammates joined us for an intimate conversation that touched on the history of women’s sporting wear in the 19th and 20th centuries, the strides that have been made for representation in sport through the development of the Nike Pro Hijab, and how Nike incorporates technology and style into every product, including the Jam Olympic breaking shoe.
