Peace Takes a Range of Diverse Voices, Perspectives, and Practices
Women are too often seen as victims of conflict. In reality, they are leaders and often unsung heroes of peace-building efforts. In 2022, WMN partnered with the Georgetown Institute of Women, Peace, and Security and the UN Department of Peace Operations to produce the third season of their podcast: Seeking Peace.
Around the world, women face countless barriers to political participation. In this episode, you will hear from women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, and Kosovo—all of whom are engaged in politics. One works to ensure women’s meaningful participation in politics, another serves as a parliamentarian, and the other is a pioneering journalist who has built a career holding politicians to account.
Our Work
We developed a series of highly-produced, beautifully sound-designed episodes, honing the broader podcast framework into a 6-episode ode to the crucial role women play in peacekeeping.
Creative Development
We worked closely with the teams at Georgetown and the UN to craft a new season of Seeking Peace from scratch. We identified key voices from around the world, featuring women breaking gender barriers and changing society from members of the Irish Defense Forces to community leaders in the Central African Republic.
Production
We managed all aspects of producing Seeking Peace: crafting interview briefs, booking guests across four continents, writing scripts, and sound designing every episode.
Marketing & Distribution
We created a comprehensive marketing plan to support the launch of Seeking Peace, including pitching press, partnering with podcast platforms, and using proven data-driven strategies to advise on paid media spend.
